Bird & Bird announced the recruitment of Sven-Michael Werner as a partner in its China corporate practice, based in Shanghai.
Werner joined the firm on 3 January 2014 from Taylor Wessing, where he was a Shanghai partner. He has experience in M&A and foreign direct investment transactions, with a strong focus on advising European clients in relation to investments into China.

Werner will cultivate the growing inbound and outbound work Bird & Bird does for its European, and in particular German, clients both in and out of China.
