The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has amended certain provisions of the Companies (Appointment and Qualification of Directors) Rules, 2014, through a notification issued on 18 September.
Under the amended rules:

(i) Directors of one or more companies on or before 30 June 2007 must provide these companies with details of their director identification number (DIN) if they have not done so within one month from the date of receipt of DIN, as per the new form DIR-3B.
(ii) Companies are now required to provide DIN details of their directors to the Registrar of Companies in accordance with section 157 of the Companies Act, 2013, in form DIR-3C within 15 days from the date on which they received DIN details from their directors.
