Roy is now a senior member of the competition law practice, while Ramanathan is the head of the dispute resolution practice at the firm.
“Sundar is a fine upcoming litigator handling all business laws including civil law,” SA Law founder S Seetharaman told India Business Law Journal. “He is very particular about details, an essential trait that is becoming a rarity nowadays. Abir is an expert in competition law. He can also handle M&A deals. He brings to the table a comprehensive and strategic perspective that is very much integral to the success of any case.”

Roy and Ramanathan joined SA Law, but had earlier planned to start their own firm and work with Seetharaman on a collaborative basis. “I think we are in a position to offer a much bigger scale with our combined forces in terms of mandates and matters that we can take up,” said Ramanathan. “[Working together] will make it much easier for us to assist clients.”
Roy and Ramanathan previously worked with Seetharaman, who had left L&S in October 2017. In addition, Ramanathan has been friends since his college days with Atul Sharma, who is another founding member of SA Law and a former managing director of the Geneva office of L&S.
Ramanathan said Seetharaman and Atul are experts in matters like WTO, international trade, anti-dumping and subsidies, customs and indirect taxes. But when they come across corporate and commercial matters, he and Roy would take them on.
