Malaysian law firm Adnan Sundra & Low has strengthened its technology and data protection talent with the appointment of Syuhaini Safwan as a partner.
Safwan joins from Touch ’n Go Group, a digital payment and financial technology company, where she served as associate director of legal and data protection officer for more than a year.
With more than 16 years of experience spanning legal, regulatory compliance and data protection, Safwan is well-versed in the civil litigation, financial and payment services, fintech, education and Islamic finance sectors.
“Syuhaini’s hiring reflects our intention to further strengthen the firm’s existing capabilities in fintech, technology and data protection. These are increasingly important areas for our clients as businesses navigate rapid technological developments, evolving regulatory requirements and the growing use of data and digital solutions across industries,” joint managing partner Putri Norlisa Najib told Asia Business Law Journal.
Najib said the firm had plans to continue developing its fintech, technology and data protection capabilities.
“We have identified fintech, technology and data protection as areas with significant potential for further growth and the firm is committed in increasing resources to cater for this,” she said.
