Singapore energy and commodities law firm Blackstone & Gold has hired Joyce Fong as a director.
Fong arrives from Reed Smith, where she worked for more than 12 years, including three years as counsel.
Her expertise covers complex, high-value, cross-border disputes, international commercial arbitration, mediation and litigation. She has also represented clients across multiple sectors, including energy and natural resources, life sciences, transportation and emerging technologies.
“Her international experience aligned with the work we do, which is predominantly international in nature. But it is not simply about adding another arbitration lawyer. What attracted us to Joyce was her ability to understand the commercial and operational issues sitting behind a dispute and to navigate matters that cut across contracts, jurisdictions and enforcement regimes. That is very much the Blackstone & Gold model,” managing director Baldev Bhinder told Asia Business Law Journal.
