In January, Bristol-based law firm Burges Salmon brought New Delhi law firms Kochhar & Co and Associated Law Advisers into its international circle of friends.

The non-exclusive connections are part of the UK firm’s strategic focus on emerging markets in the Middle East, India and China. Burges Salmon held discussions with several Indian law firms, in the UK, before making the decision.

“We’ve identified emerging markets as an extremely important area and we’re keen to create links,” Chris Seaton, a partner and head of the employment group at Burges Salmon, told The Lawyer.
