Fox Mandal & Associates has appointed Sandip Mukherjee as a director in its international tax practice. Mukherjee will be based in the firm’s Pune office and lead the practice in southern and western India.

“My priority as a leader of the practice would be to ensure the safety and protection of the people associated with us, both within as well as outside the Fox Mandal network,” Mukherjee told India Business Law Journal on taking up the role against the backdrop of the pandemic.

“It is also managing the expectations of our clients and helping them grapple with the impact of this huge crisis,” he said. “The current situation has disrupted the way we were operating our business till recently, and has forced us all into an unprecedented lockdown, causing several setbacks and changes of plans.”

Mukherjee has spent about 27 years in the profession, primarily with major professional firms including PwC and Deloitte & Andersen, in India as well as overseas. He has also spent more than six years with multinational companies such as Tata Group and ACL Group.

He specializes in tax and regulatory laws, both domestic and international, and focuses on corporate tax, employee tax, foreign exchange laws, tax litigation, international tax, and mergers and acquisitions.
