Goldman Sachs and Mitsui Global Investment have invested ₹3.15 billion (US$50 million) in Global Beverages & Foods.

India_supermarket_retouched_3The company, which was founded and promoted by A Mahendran, is a start-up venture in the fast-moving consumer goods sector. Its focus is to develop its brands in the juice, confectionery and snack market. Mahendran, formerly the managing director of Godrej Consumer Products, will also invest in the company and will be its chairman and managing director.

Goldman Sachs was advised by J Sagar Associates, with a team comprising partners Akshay Chudasama and Mithun Thanks, senior associate Anuj Bhasme and associate Ankit Guha.

Nishith Desai Associates advised Mitsui while Trilegal represented Mahendran and Global Beverages & Foods.
