Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer advised New China Life Insurance Company Ltd (NCI) on its US$1.9 billion global offering of shares and its simultaneous A- and H-share listing on the Hong Kong and Shanghai stock exchanges. NCI was the only company to have simultaneous A and H shares listings
in 2011.

Established in 1996, NCI is one of China’s largest life insurance companies. It provides a broad range of life insurance products and services to individual and institutional customers through an extensive domestic distribution network.

The Freshfields global capital markets team was led by China head Teresa Ko and partners Richard Wang and Stephen Revell, and was supported by associates Liu Yingli and Jason Xu. Legal consultants David Yi, Chen Wei and Will Wang, and trainee solicitor Chris Fu completed the team.
