The Central Board of Direct Taxes recently called for input from the public and stakeholders on provisions of the general anti-avoidance rules (GAAR) in respect of which further clarity is required from an implementation perspective. The GAAR provisions are to come into effect from financial year 2017-18.

The deadline for submissions was 30 June. It is expected that the guidance note will be finalized after considering the submissions of the public.
