Through a notification on 4 March, the central government in consultation with the Competition Commission of India (CCI): (a) increased the thresholds for the purposes of section 5 of the Competition Act, 2002; (b) increased the target de minimis exemption threshold; and (c) exempted a “group” under section 5.
- The thresholds under section 5 have been enhanced by 100%. The amended thresholds are indicated below.
