Gurgaon-based Inter-Ads was slapped with a restraining order for fabricating a business relationship with the US luxury fashion brand Polo Ralph Lauren.

Inter-Ads, an event management company that organizes international trade exhibitions and conferences, claimed it had a licence to act as a Polo franchisee and to open and operate the fashion brand’s stores in several Indian cities.
Ruling in Polo’s favour, Justice Ravindra Bhatt of Delhi High Court granted an interim injunction against Inter-Ads and immediately restrained the company from disseminating the fabricated information on their website, on blogs and to the media. Polo is now seeking substantial damages from Inter-Ads and related defendants.
