Deepak Chopra, formerly a partner at PDS Legal, has joined the partnership at AZB & Partners in Delhi. He will head the firm’s tax litigation practice and work closely with the tax and competition teams across all offices.

Chopra has over 25 years of experience in cross-border tax, transfer pricing, income tax and indirect tax litigation, having represented domestic and international clients before the Supreme Court of India, the high courts and benches of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal and the Authority for Advance Rulings. He specializes in international tax, transfer pricing, income tax and indirect tax litigation, and has advised clients across industries including oil and gas, IT, hospitality, infrastructure, construction, telecoms, fast-moving consumer goods and manufacturing, as well as key players in the manufacturing and service sectors.
Prior to joining PDS Legal, Chopra was a senior standing counsel in Delhi High Court for the Income Tax Department. He has also worked with KPMG, Ernst & Young, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
