Clyde & Co has appointed John Chrisman as a partner in its Hong Kong office.
Chrisman is a corporate lawyer with 28 years of experience representing companies, financial institutions and investment banks on international capital markets deals and cross-border M&A. He has worked on transactions in over 30 countries including India.
His recent India-related transactions include initial public offerings of RBL Bank, Thyrocare Technologies and Genscript Biotech; the tender offer of New World Development; qualified institutional placements of IndusInd Bank and Dewan Housing Finance; and the offer for sale of NTPC.

Chrisman is admitted to the state bar of California and is a registered foreign lawyer in Hong Kong and England and Wales. He moved to Clyde & Co from Dorsey & Whitney, where he established and led the firm’s India practice. He spent 11 years in its Hong Kong and Sydney offices as managing partner, and was also in London. Earlier, he worked with Coudert Brothers, Jones Day, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, and Sullivan & Cromwell.
Chrisman said he was pleased to join Clyde & Co to “further develop the firm’s international capital markets and outbound M&A practice focused on the Indian subcontinent, Asia Pacific and Middle East & North Africa regions”.
