Conciliation is the process by which a conciliator, who is appointed by the parties to the dispute or by the court, as the case may be, conciliates the differences that exist between the parties.
By encouraging disputing parties to resolve their differences through conciliation and other methods of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), the courts and the government hope to reduce the number of cases pending before the country’s overburdened judiciary.
