Dear Editor,

I read India Business Law Journal’s annual survey of law firm billing rates, published in October. It has turned out very well. I found it very crisp and to the point and enjoyed reading it very much. It’s a shame that none of the top firms have agreed to reveal their hourly billing rates.

On a separate note, I also read the update Courts to stop interfering in international awards, in your section on court judgments. I am not sure if you have already covered this in your magazine but I personally feel that this ruling is a retrograde step and not something that would portray the Indian judicial system in a positive light. For instance, we as a private equity fund are now being forced to opt for Indian arbitration since we do not have protection under section 9 if I opt for foreign arbitration. Please consider an extended analysis of this important issue.
