FoxMandal Little, one of India’s largest law firms, continued to expand in November with the acquisition of New Delhi-based Bhatia & Co.
As part of the acquisition, FoxMandal Little will take over Bhatia & Co’s offices in Lucknow and its associate office in Allahabad.
The managing partner of Bhatia & Co, Gaurav Bhatia, is well-known for his role in advising celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, many of India’s political leaders and the Samajvadi Party on important legal issues.

“I am delighted to announce the joining of Gaurav Bhatia as a partner in our firm, which will tremendously enhance the firm’s practice amongst Indian clients and … assist Indian clients acquiring internationally,” said Som Mandal, FoxMandal’s managing partner.
“He is a dynamic young lawyer who worked and trained in the US and then created his own successful practice single-handedly in India.”
Among Bhatia & Co’s best-known clients are the Reliance ADA Group, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Hindustan, The UB Group, and Balrampur Chinni Mills. The firm has wide experience in the sugar and liquor industries.
“I am positive that my existing client base will benefit tremendously from the wide areas of practice given FoxMandal’s established excellent network of offices and practice areas,” said Bhatia.

FoxMandal is no stranger to growth by acquisition. In 2006 it merged with Mumbai-based Little & Co to form FoxMandal Little.
