Peter & Kim has strengthened its cross-border disputes capabilities with the appointment of Joonhak Choi as a partner in Seoul.
Choi joins from South Korean law firm Kim & Chang, where he had served as an attorney in the international arbitration and cross-border litigation practice since 2017.
He specialises in post‑M&A disputes, disputes arising from joint ventures, energy and infrastructure projects, and insurance-related claims.
“We are delighted to welcome Joonhak to the firm. I have known him for several years and believe he is among the most impressive lawyers of the next generation of international arbitration practitioners in the region. He is a natural fit for our market-leading international arbitration practice in Korea and, more broadly, across Asia,” Peter & Kim founder and managing partner Kevin Kap-You Kim told Asia Business Law Journal.
Kim said Choi’s appointment was the latest in a series of additions in Asia, following the recent arrivals of Joseph Kim, Saemee Kim and Hyunyang Koo at the Seoul office, while Elodie Dulac was appointed as a partner at the Singapore office.
