K&L Gates has strengthened its litigation and corporate practices in Hong Kong with the recruitment of Virginia Tam as a partner in the corporate and transactional practice, and Sacha Cheong as counsel in the litigation and dispute resolution practice.

Tam will focus on cross-border corporate transactions involving publicly traded companies, advising clients on private equity financing, including pre-IPO investments and private investments in publicly traded equities, M&A including management buyouts and reverse takeovers of listed companies, and public offerings in the US and Hong Kong.
Cheong focuses on litigation before the Hong Kong courts, arbitration and mediation.
His practice covers commercial cases, white collar crime, employment, construction and infrastructure, and he has also the experience of involvement in a number of antitrust and competition investigations.
