Derek Chua has joined Latham & Watkins’ Hong Kong office as counsel in the financial institutions group.

Prior to this, Chua worked at Linklaters, and he has experience advising global, Hong Kong and PRC investment financial institutions on debt and equity-linked securities, structured equity financings, corporate derivative transactions, and retail and institutional structured products.
Chua advised the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on the establishment of its OTC derivatives clearing house and the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Connect platform. He also has experience advising on the regulatory aspects of debt securities, derivatives and structured products, with a focus on Hong Kong and PRC regulations.
