James Ford, a partner at O’Melveny & Myers in London, has relocated to the firm’s Hong Kong office to bolster its private equity offering in the region.
Ford will add strength to O’Melveny’s private equity and fund formation team in Asia, which comprises partner Lawrence Sussman, counsel Geoff Chan and Xuan Zhang in Beijing, and partner Dean Collins and counsel Lynn Chan in Singapore. He also will work closely with M&A and private equity partner Doug Freeman in Hong Kong.
Ford, a private equity partner, has wide-ranging experience in private equity and venture capital transactions, including traditional fundraisings, secondary transactions, mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, and capital markets transactions.
Ford has advised on fund formation for players such as Egeria Capital Management, Polaris Private Equity, and Actis. His expertise extends to the secondaries M&A market, private equity manager spin-outs and capital markets transactions.
