Broadcast network Star India is to acquire the Screen brand from the Indian Express group.

The deal value has not been disclosed.

Screen publishes a weekly magazine on the film and entertainment industry and also owns a film awards franchise. The deal will give Star India ownership of Screen’s trademarks, copyrights and domain names. Content including video, audio and audio-visual materials, images, files, scripts, television programming and all archival material under the Screen brand will be assigned to Star. Star will also take on Screen’s key employees.

The acquisition will integrate the Screen awards property with Star and add a consumer brand to the network’s digital business.
