On 16 July, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued a circular for authorized dealer banks regarding the issue of shares under an employee stock option plan (ESOP) and/or sweat equity shares by a company to employees of its wholly owned overseas subsidiaries or joint ventures who are resident outside India.
