Vichar Partners, a Chennai-based law firm, has become a part of J Sagar Associates (JSA) from 1 April. Partners Vinod Kumar and Aarthi Sivanandh from Vichar will be equity partners at JSA.

JSA will have 12 lawyers in Chennai including partners Kumar and Sivanandh and a senior retained partner, Chitra Narayan. The Chennai office is JSA’s sixth, adding to its offices in New Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. It also boosts the firm’s offerings in south India.
“JSA’s commitment to a culture, based on merit and excellence, is the only reality that matters,” said Sivanandh.
Berjis Desai, JSA’s managing partner, said there was growing demand from the firm’s domestic and international clients for a practice in Chennai. “This merger will enable JSA to hit the road running, as Vichar Partners already has a significant presence in Chennai,” he said.
